Wizard’s First Rule is the first book in the epic fantasy series The Sword of Truth. It was written by Terry Goodkind.

The book follows a woods guide after the death of his father. He meets a woman, Kahlan, who tells him of the tyrant Darken Rahl and how she plans to kill him.

This novel does a very good job of pitting good against evil without appearing corny. It also does a very good job of displaying the evils that are often required to defeat an even greater evil.

I believe this novel to be one of the finest I’ve read. This is a must read for any fantasy, drama, or romance fan. Some of you may have seen the TV series, Legend of the Seeker, and think it is crap. To that I have simply one thing to say; it is crap. Please do not judge the book simply based on the show.
