I am proud to say that I went to see Star Trek on the first day of its release. Anyway, to get to the point...

Star Trek was pretty good. Compared to other sci-fi films it was great, especially when compared to the other Star Trek films. (I have no delusions about it; the other Star Treks sucked) This movie is not in anyway unique. It is your basic, Earth is in danger and needs to be saved film. That been said, it was really entertaining for me. I was a little annoyed that Simon Pegg did not have a bigger part though.

Any sci-fi fan will enjoy this film. Although some hardcore trekies might be ticked off about how much cannon was thrown out for this film but to be honest, who cares? Main stream Star Trek is not that good anyway. And besides this movie is not even considered to be cannon. It is just a really expensive fan film.

I'm not really sure what else to say. The movie was good. Don't say no to it just because other Star Trek sucked, give it a shot.
